On January 15, 2021, the Division of Drinking Water (DDW) posted an Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) recommendation for a Notification Level (NL) for perfluorobutane sulfonic acid (PFBS). Copy here (OEHHA PFBS NL Recommendation). OEHHA’s recommended NL is 0.5 µg/L.
Background: On February 6, 2020 DDW submitted a request to OEHHA to complete a review of available health effects information and make recommendations for notification levels for the following 7 PFAS compounds:
- perfluorohexane sulfonic acid (PFHxS)
- perfluorobutane sulfonic acid (PFBS)
- perfluorohexanoic acid (PFHxA)
- perfluoroheptanoic acid (PFHpA)
- perfluorononanoic acid (PFNA)
- perfluorodecanoic acid (PFDA)
- 4,8-dioxia-3H-perflourononanoic acid (ADONA)
