At today’s workshop on hexavalent chromium (CrVI) treatment costs Division of Drinking Water (DDW) staff presented their anticipated schedule for establishing a Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for CrVI:
- Spring 2021 – DDW publishes Notice of Proposed Rulemaking with proposed CrVI MCL for public comment.
- 2021 – DDW holds workshops.
- 2021 – State Water Resources Control Board holds hearing to adopt MCL.
- Early 2022 – CrVI MCL goes into effect.
