Earlier this month (July 2020) the California State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) issued an Order requiring publicly owned treatment works (POTWs) with a capacity of 1 MGD or more, conduct one year of quarterly PFAS monitoring in the influent, effluent and of biosolids. Monitoring is to begin in the fourth quarter of 2020. The SWRCB’s Order includes a list of POTWS that received the order.
